Forrest and Marietta Ridgeway are hosting this walk in honor of their daughter Aliya Rose who loved to play outdoors. Aliya would celebrate her second birthday on April 15, 2006.

Aliya was a healthy, loving 18 month old who died September 28, 2005 of SUDC, a cousin of SIDS, affecting children after their first birthday.

The route selected for the walk starts at Pavilion 1 and follows a nature path which circles the pond for approx 3 miles. There are several rest spots along the path. You may walk the path at your leisure or you may join us on one or both of the group walks which will start at 10:30 and 1:30. The path around the lake is not stroller/wheelchair friendly. Please remember to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.

We have reserved pavilion #1 for the day so family and friends can join together to celebrate Aliya’s second birthday. We also have a nature craft project planned for the children. Playground and Bathroom facilities are located next to our Pavilion.

Light refreshments will be available.

A memorial tree planting and balloon release
is scheduled for 4:00 pm at the park.
